“Jane is the most amazing person.”
This is what Kent said right off the bat when asked to talk about his wife, and you can tell just how much he means that.
When it comes to Jane Jewett, she is full of sacrifice. She is someone who gives so much of herself without asking for anything in return. She loves harder than anyone in the room, and she works harder than them too.
Jane’s sacrifice and love showed exponentially from the moment she and Kent got married. He brought four children into the marriage, and Jane was more than okay with taking custody of them all.
“She is the most caring, loving person,” Kent said. “She’s my angel.”
Kent knows that it takes a very special person to go from having no kids to having four right after saying, “I do,” and that goes to show how he views Jane. He sees her as a Godsend, and he is thankful for her each and every day.
Jane’s personality is also a sight to behold. She has a lot of joy in her heart, and she is very compassionate. She would do anything for anyone, and she is certainly a wonderful mother and grandmother.
Justin, Kasey, Lindsey and Jordan are grateful to have such a wonderful mother who they can always count on. They know they can ask her for advice or just have her as a shoulder to lean on, and that is irreplaceable.
A couple of their favorite memories growing up were Jane’s class treats and lunchbox notes. Even with a full-time job, she was always the first one to volunteer to bring something homemade. And she never sent the kids to school without a surprise lunchbox note.
Jane is an exceptional grandmother to Charli, Weston, Julian, Harrison, Ethan, Emmett and Olivia, and they love their grandma for this. The grandchildren love her memory-making experiences, from the yearly Pajamas with Papa before Christmas, back-to-school shopping, and the most recent tradition of the “Yes” Day as a birthday gift.
“Jane has a loving and caring heart,” Kent said. “She’s always making every sacrifice so that our children would never go without. She’s constantly putting each of them before herself.”
They say marriage has a lot of give and take, but being a mother has a lot of give. Being a mother requires being giving of your time and your love and so much more, and this is something Jane is more than happy to do.
Speaking of being happy, Jane is someone who always has a smile on her face. She has such a positive outlook on life, and she can truly brighten any room.
“I admire her laugh and smile,” Kent said. “I admire her warm heart. She is not only the best parent/mother there could be, but the best grandparent to her grandchildren.”
One of the major ways Jane is the best mother and grandmother is through her role modelness. She has such an influence on her family’s lives, and they look up to her in many ways.
Jane is an especially good role model when it comes to hard work and determination. She is well-educated too, and she showed this off when she hit the big four-o.
“I admire how, at the age of 40, she completed her college degree,” Kent said.
Jane wanted to prove to herself she could do it, and she did just that.
She also loves to outdo herself. She loves making sure everyone in her life is taken care of to the fullest extent, and she does this by being attentive to each of their needs.
“She’s always going above and beyond to care for each child and grandchild,” Kent said. “When our kids got older and started to move out, she decided to do Sunday lunches for the entire family. Our kids, my parents, her parents. Whoever could make it just to keep the family close and let everyone know that they are loved and we are one unit.”
Family is everything to Jane, and that is why it is such an important focal point in everything Kent said about her.
What also makes Jane who she is, is her overall sense of adventure and competitive nature. She loves to get out and explore, and she also loves to play games and even lounge around the house. As long as she is doing things with the ones she loves, she is happy as a clam.
Kent said some of his wife’s favorite activities include:
Taking cruises and seeing the world.
Playing Settlers of Catan and Cribbage.
Driving around the town with Frankie the dog in the convertible.
Bowling and watching baseball and football.
Watching Hallmark Christmas movies.
Exploring new wineries and breweries.
Kent and Jane have also set a goal as a couple to visit every single Major league baseball stadium. They have hit 50 percent of them so far.
When it comes to being married to Jane, Kent also loves just how much she does for him. She finds a way to bring out his best every day, and she makes him who he is.
“She’s pushed me to be a better person,” Kent said.
Jane encourages Kent to reach for the stars and push himself to levels he has never been to, and he is thankful for that.
“She believed in me,” Kent said. “I wasn’t the best person, father or husband, but she believed in me, gave me hope and a reason to continue living. She supported me while we fought and obtained full custody of our children.”
Kent will never forget Jane’s sacrifices during his career transition years ago.
“She supported the entire family while I transitioned from the restaurant business to opening my own Farmers Insurance and Financial Services Agency.”
None of that would have been possible without Jane, and Kent knows this. He owes everything to her, and he wants her to know just how grateful he truly is.
“She’s everything to me,” he said. “She’s my life. I don’t ever want to be without her.”
Life with Jane is way better than Kent could have imagined, and yet he will tell you it is exactly as he could have pictured it. She is the one woman who could make all his dreams come true, and she is truly his better half.
As they celebrate another anniversary, Kent just wants to remind Jane that the last quarter decade-plus has been the best years of his life. She has shaped him and molded him and has helped him grow into the person he is today. He and the kids and grandkids owe everything to her, and she deserves to give herself a pat on the back.
“While I tell her how much I love her, I want her to know how much I appreciate everything she has not only done for me, but for our family. No normal person would take on those responsibilities; only an Angel sent from above would do something like that. She’s my Angel.” – Kent
