Rachel Verstegen is a one-of-a-kind woman. That is why her husband Scott “immediately fell head over heels for her,” and why her children (Griffin, Alyse and Mitch) all look up to her.
The Verstegen clan all realizes how special of a person Rachel is. She has done so much for them and has sacrificed so much over the years. She is a model of hard work too, as Rachel has countless degrees, has run her own business, and has worked all sorts of jobs many people can only dream of having.
“She is caring, hardworking, kind, loving, and she tries hard to be a good cook,” Alyse said on behalf of her family. “Mom is the most unselfish person we know. She’s considerate, fun to be around, a social butterfly, empathetic, patient, nurturing, accepting and supportive.”
There is not a positive character trait Rachel does not possess. She loves with all her heart, and she is the glue of the Verstegen family.
On the flip side, Rachel is geographically (and geologically) challenged, but she certainly makes up for it in everything else, especially in her parenting skills. She is the type of mother women strive to be, as Rachel is present, supportive and loves to make memories.
“She is a great parent because she is very caring; she will put her family and kids in front of anyone and anything,” Rachel’s family said. “She provides unconditional love and support no matter what. She puts her family before any job, opportunity or anything else in life. She is the light in all of our lives, and we know we can go to her with anything.”
The Verstegen household is always fun and positive as can be. There is never a dull moment when Rachel is around, and she has really helped her children during their transitions into adulthood.
Rachel has a knack for turning many moments into memories as well. From her always catching her “first fish ever” to her showing off her lack of athleticism at inopportune times, Rachel’s fun-loving, lack-of-seriousness outlook on life makes for some great adventures with the family.
“My dad’s favorite memory of her was when they bought our cabin, they were going to tear it down and she cleaned it up very nicely many times so my dad wouldn’t crush it, and she prolonged the process for seven years,” Alyse said. “Our favorite memories are all of the vacations that she has brought us on.”
Playa Del Carmen, Puerto Vallarta, Florida, Disney World, Punta Cana, and Wisconsin road trips. These were where a lot of said vacations happened, and where a lot of memories were made.
However, you could say just being in Rachel’s presence is a memory in and of itself. At least, that’s how her family feels.
Rachel is just an all-out wonderful family woman with a whole lot to offer. She is her husband’s better half and life partner, her children’s (and friends’) supporter, and a cherished dog mom. She is the light of her family’s world, and they all love and appreciate Rachel so much.
“We all want her to know how much we love her and appreciate everything that she does for us. We wouldn’t function as a family the way that we do if it wasn’t for her. She is our best friend, and we love her so much and are so blessed that she is our mom/wife.”
