When someone makes you change for the better, chances are you are meant for one another.
In Mike Freeman’s case with his wife, Hyness, this is no different. He knows she brings out the best in him, and that he would not be the man he is without her in his life.
Mike met Hyness in Iraq back in 2005, and after a lot of trips around the globe, a wedding ceremony and two children, he feels complete. And that is all thanks to his amazing wife. She has turned him into the family man he is today, and he just admires everything about Hyness.
“I admire the unwavering support she gives the family,” Mike said. “And her passion to be a leader for her children.”
Hyness is a tremendous wife above it all, and Mike could not be in more awe of her. Little Hyness sings and plays softball and Gunnar does martial arts and plays flag football, and there is not a time you will not find Hyness in the crowd supporting her kids. She loves watching them partake in everything they do, and she is their biggest cheerleader.
“She takes a lot of time working with the kids on Kumon, martial arts and softball for the kids,” Mike said. “She even took them to Disney this year just for the kids’ vacation. She helps them with all their schoolwork, and she provides shelter and a beautiful home with many amenities.”
She does it all for the kids. Hyness loves Little Hyness and Gunnar so much, and she makes them the priority.
She is a role model for them as well. She works hard day in and day out, and where she has gotten to in life has not been without blood, sweat and tears.
“She is a super successful business lady with her best foot forward in sales,” Mike said.
Hyness has been in the oil and gas sales industry for close to two decades, and she is very good at what she does. She has a way with words and a way with people, and she does a great job convincing people to buy from her.
Between her people skills and her strive to never settle for less, it is no wonder she is an expert saleswoman.
“She is ultra-competitive,” Mike said. “Hyness has her own personal drive to be the best.”
She also has the drive to bring out the best in others. She is a great friend to many because she is always uplifting people, as well as pushing them to succeed. Hyness is a great friend in this sense, and because she is a give-the-shirt-off-her-back type of woman.
On top of being a great friend, she is a dog mama. She loves her dogs more than life itself, and you could say those dogs are definitely spoiled.
The dogs are not the only ones who feel spoiled, though, as Mike, Hyness and Gunnar all feel very lucky and blessed to have Hyness in their lives. They love making memories with her too, and they will tell you every day is another opportunity to add to the memory bank.
“We were in Dubai ordering food and she didn’t know how to pronounce hors d’oeuvres! It was hilarious, and when I said it out loud, it all clicked,” Mike said. “We both were crying from laughter.”
Of course, all their trips across the globe have been memorable, and so have all the moments they spend together as a family at home. Mike said they all share weekly laughs together, and they love vacationing at the beach.
All in all, without Hyness, a lot of people’s lives would look significantly different, and Mike and the kids in particular are glad they do not have to think about this. They are grateful for the matriarch of their household, and they love her so much. She is their glue and their everything, and that will never change.
“Thanks for taking a chance on a guy that had two strikes already. Thank you for loving me unconditionally with all my flaws. Thank you for being my best friend and partner. Thank you for being the motivation to be better all the time. ‘One Team One Fight.’” – Mike
