Kween Ojeda and Tyler Watkins met through mutual friends at the Americana and went on their first date at the Bacari Restaurant.
Tyler said it took him all of two dates to know she was going to be someone special in his life, and after a month of dating, he knew she was “The One.”
“Kween’s co-worker, Stephanie, set us up in December of 2021 and we have been together ever since,” Tyler said, adding, “She’s the love of my life.”
The couple are engaged and will be married on January 18, 2025, a date that Tyler said can’t come soon enough.
Kween was born in the Philippines and moved with her family to California when she was 10 years old. She loves her family and loves to travel to see them at the family’s home in San Francisco.
Tyler said Kween is a kind-hearted and selfless person who would do anything to help someone, a trait that makes her an excellent nurse at Cedars-Sinai Hospital.
“Kween is one of the hardest working people I know, and you would never know if she had a bad day or not because she never complains,” Tyler said. “She always strives to be her best, which makes me want to be a better person.”
The couple enjoys going to Mariners and Seahawks games, going to breweries and wineries, and hosting friends at their home. Tyler said when they have company, Kween always makes sure everyone is having a good time.
They also love to travel and discover new cities. Tyler specifically enjoyed celebrating their first anniversary of dating in Palm Springs exploring the downtown. They also had a memorable trip to Vancouver, Canada, that included a walk across the beautiful Capilano Suspension Bridge.
Their first trip to Seattle was also special because Tyler was able to show Kween around the city where he grew up. It really doesn’t matter where they go, he said, because the best part is just being together.
Tyler admires that Kween always finds the positive in everything. He also appreciates how kind and composed Kween is because she keeps him from letting his temper get the best of him.
“Kween is everything I would love to be,” Tyler said. “She is the most important person in my life. I am so thankful she is in my life to keep me in line. She is my best friend and my forever Valentine. I will always love her, and I can’t wait to start our lives together as husband and wife.”
