When someone gets rear-ended in their car, they don’t expect it will lead them to meet the love of their life with whom they will one day start a family. However, that is exactly what happened when Megan Hutton (then Megan Williams) was assigned to be Alexander Hutton’s aide throughout his physical therapy, which would culminate with the birth of their son, Declan Lee Hutton.
Megan and Alexander had such a strong connection when they met that Megan had to be removed from his case. This wouldn’t stop their love from growing and sparks from flying with how many qualities Alexander admired in Megan.
“Megan loves people for who they are. Megan allows people to be themselves,” said Alexander. “I have never met anyone who truly accepts me for me. She does not see my flaws as flaws, but as a part of who I am.”
The two have created many wonderful memories together including the weekend they brought home their dog Bailey, becoming members at their church, Fishers United Methodist Church, in Fishers, Indiana and trips to Jasper to see Megan’s family. However, their greatest memory of all is being at the hospital for the birth of their son Declan.
Declan’s birth led to many more wonderful memories together including his first Christmas service at church and his parents being home together with him for three months after he was born, which included travelling to see family during Thanksgiving and Christmas. Even with these wonderful memories, Megan is thrilled just by getting to be his mom.
“Everything Declan does makes Megan happy. Every time she sees him learn something new, she cannot stop smiling. Just being his mom makes her proud,” said Alexander. “She sees being his mom as her greatest blessing. God put her on this earth to be his mom, and that is not a mission she takes lightly.”
Megan has taught her husband so much, like how to listen and sympathize with others more. With this being their first Mother’s Day with Declan it’s only a matter of time before she’s able to instill these life lessons in him as well.
It’s hard to believe that an accident led to such an incredible love that birthed a child, but with their faith in God, it’s clear that this was always the way it was meant to be.
“[I am so] thankful that she is Declan’s mom. I will love her for all of eternity,” said Alexander. “I thank God that I was blessed to become her husband; that we are following Him on our path as spouses and parents. Thank you, Megan, for being you. I love, and I mean, I LOVE you!”
