Being a military wife can be a very tough task. Rachael Riviere makes it look easy, and she does it without asking for any recognition.
She deserves to be recognized for all that she does for her family, however, as she is the one who truly helps make the family function, all without complaint or hesitation.
She is a loving and supportive wife and mother, and her husband, Joshua, is so appreciative of everything she does for them.
“She works endlessly for our family,” he said. “In the 14 years we’ve been together, she’s been at home with the kids while I’ve been overseas in the military – one to Kuwait/Iraq in 2011 to 2012 and most recently when I was in Africa from 2020 to 2021 – all while going through Covid, quarantine and distance learning for the kids. She’s the real hero, not me.”
Whatever needs to be done to make sure the family is taken care of, Rachael does it. She is the rock of the family, and Joshua knows the family would not be the same without her.
They have three wonderful children – Aleena, Lillian and Louis – and she would do absolutely anything for them.
Rachael is such a loving mother who knows the needs of each of their three children, and she is always there for them, supporting them with whatever they need.
“Rachael is a phenomenal parent because she always places the kids first,” Joshua said. “Weekends and weeknights are encompassed with sports practices and homework. She takes care of all the scheduling and without her, we would be lost. She is the definition of self-sacrifice.”
If selflessness had a nickname, it would be Rachael Riviere.
Rachael is such a selfless mother, but that selflessness does not stop with her kids. She is always sacrificing her time for those around her, especially her family and friends.
She always wants what is best for them, and she takes care of them well before she ever worries about herself.
“She always places everyone else in our family above herself,” Joshua said. “She is a phenomenal mom. She spends time with each kid individually to make sure that they each feel special. She’s the yin to my yang. We balance each other out. I’m more go-with-the-flow and she likes to make sure everything is structured and set.”
They are the perfect pair, and Joshua knows that when he is not around, the people he cares most about are in good hands.
He loves his wife more than anything, and he could not imagine a better person to help the family function, especially during his deployments.
“As we get older, we learn what really matters in life,” he said. “To me, she is number one on that list. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with her and can’t thank her enough for the beautiful family she has given us.”
