When Karen Kulick says she is up for anything, she tells the truth. There is never an adventure she will turn down, whether it is ziplining in Hawaii, riding elephants in Thailand, or taking on spitting camels in Egypt.
The Long Beach, California, native is a registered nurse (RN) and an activity junkie. It is one of the many reasons that her husband, Daniel Kulick, loves his wife and wants to celebrate her this Valentine’s Day.
“I just want to let Karen know how much I appreciate all she does and how she is so supportive of me,” said Daniel.
Daniel and Karen met at work and had great chemistry from the start. They have four adult children – Brandon, Nicolette, Amanda and Matthew – and now are grandparents as well. Plus, Daniel and Karen have two dogs named Pebbles and Harlie.
There are many memorable trips and vacations the couple has gone on through the years, including some with the entire Kulick family. Vacation spots range from the Caribbeans, Mexico and Hawaii, all the way to Europe and Asia.
“Karen never says no to any activity, outing, trip or request,” said Daniel. “I enjoy doing everything with her. She’s my best friend and no matter what I do, it’s more fun with her.”
Beyond their international and overseas adventures, Daniel and Karen have gone to multiple concerts and sporting events over the years. An incredible gift that Karen gave Daniel for his 60th birthday was an attempted introduction to the long-time legendary voice of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Vin Scully.
“She’s always been supportive of my needs and encourages me in my responsibilities,” said Daniel. “When we got to know each other, I just knew I had found my best friend.”
According to her husband, Karen is always busy doing something. If she is not working, she is likely spending time with her grandkids or volunteering at the local animal shelter.
For hobbies, Karen is into gardening, baking, home decorating, and crafts and arts. With any free time she has left over, she can be found watching true-crime TV shows.
“She has a positive attitude and finds a bright spot in whatever she is doing,” said Daniel. “She’s always reaching out and helping others or staying busy around the house.”
She could also be off on an adventure, given it doesn’t take much to convince her to take part in an activity or explore a new continent. It’s one of the many things that Daniel loves about his wife.
“Even though I don’t always say it, I just want her to know that I love her for who she is,” said Daniel. “I appreciate her support and all the things, big and little, that she does for me and for us as a family.”
