Amanda Mason is an amazing wife and mom who has dedicated herself to taking care of her family.
Her husband, Terrance, said he appreciates everything she does for the family, adding that she will do whatever is needed for the ones she loves.
“She serves her family without hesitation or limit,” he said, adding that she recently showed just how far she will go for the family when he had surgery to repair a ruptured patellar tendon.
For several weeks, he wasn’t able to walk or help at all, but Amanda has been amazing, keeping the household going.
“Watching her take care of me and take on every responsibility at home with grace and without complaint has been a joy and helps me keep a positive mindset,” he said.
The couple went to the same high school, and Amanda had a crush on Terrance, but he was oblivious. She reached out to him when they were in college, and they began dating in December 2008.
On one of their first dates, Amanda wore very tall, very uncomfortable heels, and unfortunately, they did a lot of walking that day.
“We get a good laugh out of that now, and I’m not sure she owns a pair of heels today,” Terrance said with a smile.
They were married on September 18, 2011, and now have two wonderful children, Jabari and Jordin, who are being raised by the best mom in the world. Terrance said Amanda is great because she spends quality time with them and provides guidance while letting them be themselves and make their own decisions.
The way Amanda announced her first pregnancy was memorable, as she walked into the room, with happiness and worry in her eyes, and slapped a positive pregnancy test into Terrance’s hand. He laughs at the memory; a perfect example of how blunt Amanda can be.
Amanda’s love of children extends beyond her family to the students she teaches at Ross Shaw Sterling Aviation High School.
When she isn’t working or doting on her family, Amanda likes to have date nights with Terrance and they both love to travel. One trip always brings a smile to Terrance’s face.
“When we were in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, we took a small boat with a group of strangers out to a random island to see a show and have dinner,” Terrance explained. “It was a great performance, we ate delicious food, and there was perfect lighting on a rainy night. Being there with the love of my life made it a magical memory.”
Terrance is in awe of Amanda’s drive, creativity and consistency. She’s loving, caring, hardworking and loyal. He added that she’s very affectionate and expressive of her feelings.
Amanda is accepting of other people no matter their flaws and generally thinks about herself last in group settings. Terrance said she has taught him a lot about acceptance, which makes him strive to be a better person.
“Amanda, words aren’t enough to convey the depth of gratitude and appreciation I feel to have you in my life,” Terrance said. “I don’t feel I could thank you enough for all the little and big things you do, but I’m saying THANK YOU anyway. The kids and I are blessed to have you in our lives. I love you always.”
