Backbone of our Family – Sarah Koehlinger

Sarah Koehlinger has dedicated herself to caring for her family. In that, her husband, Matt, said she takes wonderful care of him and their daughters, Anna and Olivia.

“She is the greatest mother and wife in the world,” Matt said.

Sarah is the ultimate family person as her family means everything to her. Matt said they would be lost without her because she does almost all the cleaning, cooking, planning and organizing for the family… And she is very much appreciated for it.

Animals are another love of Sarah’s, and she works as a licensed veterinarian for Elanco Animal Health.

When she isn’t caring for animals or doting on her family, Sarah enjoys the outdoors, especially hiking, and loves reading. She is also the number one fan of the girls’ jump rope team, the Avon Aerial Orioles.

“Sarah is selfless when it comes to the girls’ needs and making sure they always feel loved,” Matt said, adding, “She cares about raising our daughters the right way and instilling them to be good people and care about others.”

Matt and Sarah met on eHarmony and had their first date at Bravo restaurant. Matt said he ignored her after their first date, but she pursued him and they had a second date at On the Border.

“During that second date, I knew she was special,” Matt said. “Soon after that date, we were at Maggie Moo’s Ice Cream Shop, and I asked her to be my girlfriend.”

The couple have made countless memories since those first dates, including a cruise to Alaska. With the girls, they traveled to Yellowstone in their RV, and also visited Acadia National Park and Niagara Falls.

Matt said he is in awe of Sarah’s work ethic, adding that when something needs to be done, she won’t stop until it is done. She also has incredible organizational skills, making sure the family is where they need to be.

Sarah is very strong in her faith, which inspires Matt and the girls.

“She has taught me the importance of faith in my life,” Matt said. “Before I met her, I was weak in my faith, but I’m thankful she has inspired me to explore my faith. Being married to her truly has made me a better person.”

“Sarah is the backbone of our family, and Anna, Olivia and I appreciate everything she does for us,” Matt said. “We don’t thank her often enough, but we know we are blessed to have her in our lives. Sarah, thank you so much. We all love you a ton!”
