Mitch and Kelly Stessing are phenomenal people. Anyone who knows them would say it is difficult to pick their favorite thing about them. There are too many amazing qualities and memories to choose from.
For starters, Mitch and Kelly are faithful servants of God. They live life as true disciples day in and day out, and it shows in all they do.
Mitch and Kelly put others first. Anyone who has met the Stessings knows that if they ever need anything, they are just one call away.
They are devoted to their marriage and their love between each other. Mitch loves his wife so much and it shows. Kelly always puts Mitch first and reminds her family how important it is to keep God at the center.
They are tremendous parents too. They love their children and their grandchildren more than anything. They have done so much for them to support and provide them with a beautiful, happy, successful and fulfilling life.
“I look up to my parents and the way they raised me,” their daughter Amanda says. “I look to them for advice on how to raise my own children and support my family. They are a beautiful example of love, and I strive to have a marriage as strong as theirs.”
Family is such a huge part of their lives. Kelly is one of nine siblings, and Mitch is one of three. The couple makes sure they never miss birthdays, sporting events, graduations, holidays, or any chances they get to make memories.
Mitch and Kelly have servants’ hearts. They care so much about others, and they always want to help people in any way they can. They are truly selfless!
“Mom loves to volunteer and help others, and she is extremely selfless in putting other people first,” their son Mitchell said.
Kelly loves cooking for people too, along with hosting parties. Anyone who has been to the annual 4th of July party or Stessing Christmas Cook-Off knows this family brings people together with food and fun. Anyone who has tried her signature cookies knows they are truly something to look forward to.
“Dad loves his family more than anything, and would do anything for them,” Mitchell said. “He is an amazing, supportive husband, and would do anything for his children.”
From taking them boating to hosting family dinners and cooking potato pancakes, he loves to be outside and by the water with the ones he loves most.
In fact, Mitch and Kelly live within two miles of their kids which, if you ask them, is the biggest gift of all. They get to see them all the time, and are always willing to step in and help. Whether it’s house projects, babysitting, rolling in the garbage cans, or keeping the fridges full, they are there no questions asked.
“My dad’s sense of loyalty to family is unbelievable,” Mitchell said. “He has that happy wife, happy life mentality. Dad routinely runs down to help my grandmother – Dopey.”
Mitch and Kelly are as present as two people can be, and this is truly admirable. They make sure people know where they stand with them, and this couple never fails to be there for others in times of need.
They are never afraid to talk about their faith. Mitch and Kelly are not ashamed of who they are or what they believe, and their morals and values are sound. Not only do they volunteer at church events and serve communion during weekend masses, but they are always praying for others’ needs. This is a truly beautiful and selfless gesture.
“Growing up, my mother was super faithful and she was able to help my dad find that faith through their relationship,” Mitchell said. “They were able to pass that to my sister and I. It’s trickled down to my nieces, and anyone who comes in contact with them. Faith has helped them stay loving to each other and stay together.”
This couple is amazing for a number of reasons, and their faith-centric mantra is the icing on the cake; Faith, Family, Friends and Fun! It’s hard not to want to be around them.
“I want them to know how much they mean to me and that, while I don’t always get to say it enough, I love them more than anything.” – Your Family
