Family is everything in the Lopez household. Brittany and Luciano are always putting the needs of their family before their own, and they would do anything for their four kids.
“My wife and kids definitely keep me on my toes,” Luciano said. “Our older two children are approaching college age and are getting into new scenarios that test our patience. Then we have the younger two who are constantly finding new ways to push the envelope. Just when we think we’ve seen everything… but every day with them is an opportunity to grow not only as parents, but as people in general.”
Kaitlyn, 17, and Isabel, 16, both work jobs and are in high school, while Esperanza, 2, and Elias, 1, are entering their toddler years. There is no shortage of craziness in the Lopez household, but Brittany and Luciano would not change that for the world.
Brittany did not have an ounce of experience in terms of motherhood when she and Luciano first met, but she has stepped into the role perfectly. She is a great mother figure to their four children, and Luciano loves life with Brittany.
“I appreciate that we share our opinions with each other; our willingness to see new things and try new adventures,” Luciano said. “We look forward to spending time with family and we all pitch in to pick up the slack when one of us are down.”
The six people in the Lopez household are as close as any family can be. They are there for each other in every situation, and they are always helping each other out.
“My family is like air, water, food, blood, heart and brain,” Luciano said. “We cannot survive without each other.”
The Lopez’s all know the importance of family, and that blood is thicker than water. With each other, they can get through anything. Without each other, well, they would rather not think about if they were not as close a family as they are.
“We are a tight knit family,” Luciano said. “We love spending time together. As often as we can, we like to travel and go on adventures together or just sit around the fire and tell jokes and stories. We also enjoy board games and movies.”
From snowball fights at the cottage to paper ball battles at the house, the Lopez’s enjoy the precious moments in life with each other. Luciano has lost count of the times he has been ganged up on after winning another game of Monopoly, but rest assured, he will not forget being ganged up on.
From family game nights to Isabel crying happy tears after seeing her favorite band in person, the Lopez’s cherish these special moments with each other. They learn so much just by being around each other.
“My family has taught me that it’s the little victories that make the world go around,” Luciano said. “We are going to get it wrong a lot, but when you get it right, it’s absolutely amazing.”
With family, enduring life’s easiest and toughest challenges will always be simpler together. There is so much to be grateful for when your family bonds as much as the Lopez family does, Brittany and Luciano are so appreciative of that.
“God has been so good to us! We have been so very blessed,” Luciano said. “Nothing on this earth has meant more to me than our children. There are no words to express the love I feel for them. Wherever you go, whatever you do in life, always remember that mom and dad love you more than you can possibly imagine.”
