On Trent and Amy Harrison’s first date, they could already hear wedding bells.
Their first date was at their friend’s wedding, which accounts for the literal wedding bells, as Amy helped Trent cater the event. Figurative wedding bells played as their enjoyment of each other was instant and obvious.
“We both knew immediately this was meant to be,” said Trent. “We just connected. We heard each other’s struggles and later we cried with each other as we talked of our fears. We told each other that we would always be there until our last breaths.”
Now married, the couple continues their life-long love and commitment. This Valentine’s Day, Trent wants to express his love for Amy and his gratitude for her selfless love and dedication to the Harrison family, which includes two daughters—Kaylee Marie, age 19, and Claire Noel, age 16—and three dogs—Cole, Frank and Luna.
“I may not always say it, but I notice, love and appreciate all the little things that Amy does that keep us together,” said Trent. “She will do everything in her power to see that her daughters and I can be the best version of ourselves.”
Amy was born and raised in Elton, New York, with two brothers and four sisters. Her mother gave her skills around the house and in the kitchen, while her father instilled in Amy a tremendous work ethic.
Amy has always had a belief that no job is too big for her and that nothing should stop her from pursuing her goals.
“She’s one of the strongest women I know,” said Trent. “She was once a working mom with two jobs to support her and her girls, and her devotion to her work and her life is second only to her devotion to her family.”
Amy has been a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) her whole life, starting in high school. She devotes time and energy into helping her patients heal and feel comfortable.
“Her patients always trust her and know they are in good hands,” said Trent. “She brings calm and peace, while also providing an understanding and awareness to those that are afflicted.”
Amy loves to cook and is adept at making the most out of the food she prepares. Some favorite memories with Trent are times in the kitchen where the couple dance, sing and laugh the night away.
She is also into gardening, as you can find her outside from spring to autumn tending to a variety of flowers and plants.
But most of all, she loves her family. Amy is her husband’s biggest fan and she loves watching her daughters grow up, as she supports them in their athletic endeavors.
“She has a huge heart; a knack for caring and understanding,” Trent said. “She allows her girls to be themselves. She lets them feel her love, and they know it is real.”
Starting on their first date, Trent admired the beautiful nature about Amy that allows people to be comfortable in her presence, and he noticed her tireless effort to help others thrive.
“Her smile, her eyes, and her beauty can light up any room,” said Trent. “She never stops, and she will never quit or give up.”
Amy helps Trent be a better person, instilling in him confidence and caring for his well-being. He can’t repay her, but he wants to say thank you.
“When she loves, she loves with everything,” Trent said. “She has an ability to see things through other people’s eyes and walk a mile in their shoes. I’m thankful and love her very much.”
