Marilyn Bennette has had a lot of successes and cause for celebration in her lifetime.
For starters, she coached Clearview Regional High School to an undefeated softball season back in 1998 that culminated in a state championship victory. She instilled a love of horses and sports in her daughters, and has even been known to have her youngest daughter “help” her get out of speeding tickets in the past.
More importantly, however, Marilyn has a lot to be proud of as a retired teacher, as a mother (and stepmother), as a grandmother and as a faithful servant of God.
Throughout the years, it became more and more prevalent to Marilyn’s children in particular that she is a woman so full of compassion and care for others. She is there for anyone at any time, and she truly lives selflessly.
“I believe my mother is a gift from heaven above,” Mariyln’s daughter Lori said. “She is meant to spread a little sunshine into everyone’s life whom she touches.”
Marilyn certainly lives the good life, and the way she raised her children was truly special. She raised them in a way where they were afforded the opportunity to grow into exceptional individuals in their own right, and even in their 50s both Kelly and Lori constantly attribute everything they have become to their loving mother.
In fact, they know their mother is the reason they became wonderful mothers to their own daughters. Marilyn’s guidance and support in their lives has certainly paid off well.
“I admire her faith and her strength that she passed on to both her children and her grandchildren,” Kelly stated. “I admire her perseverance and her work ethic. And her beautiful heart for her family and others.”
There is a lot to be said about Marilyn.
As a mother, she was always there. As a teacher, she was invested in her students’ lives. As a friend, she has a big heart and a whole lot of love.
All this being said, Marilyn will tell you the reason she is who she is is because of the mere fact that she has God at the center of her life. He is the one who guides and directs her every step, and she would not be the woman she is today without Him.
“What makes her a good mom is her immense love of family and taking care of others,” Kelly said. “Her not letting us take the easy way out growing up, but teaching us to be strong, independent women with a heart for God.”
Lori concurs, “Mommy has always taught us to put God first in our lives and to live by faith, showing grace to others.”
The successful life Marilyn lives certainly does not go unnoticed, and it is definitely appreciated by many. She is a special woman who means a lot to a lot of people, and her faith and mothering abilities are nothing short of tremendous.
“I love her more than words can say and I’m so thankful that God gave her to me as my mother.” – Kelly
