When Eugene looks at his stunning wife, Dawn, he is reminded time and again that she is super amazing and wonderful. She is the kind of wife that always has her husband’s back, and in much the same way she has everyone else’s back as well. Dawn just has a lot of love in her heart and joy on her face, and she loves life.
Eugene first met Dawn over six years ago. They talked on the phone for the first time for over three hours, and it was through those conversations they had that Eugene noticed he found a real one. Dawn was quickly appearing to be everything that Eugene could ever ask for or imagine in a partner, as many of their interests and values aligned.
“She is the most truthful, honest, hard-working, humble person I know,” Eugene said. “She can fix any situation and talk to you about anything. She will give you the shirt off her back. Like, for instance, we had our son Drason who had to have major mouth surgery in Maryland. She took off work and went there for the surgery. She brought him back to Florida to get rest and to care for him until he was able to take care of himself again.”
That is just the loving mother’s heart in Dawn. Despite all three of her kids being adults now, that does not mean they no longer love their mother. And thanks to the way Dawn raised them, they have a sheer appreciation for her and know they can go to her for anything.
Speaking of the kids, Dawn being the mother that she is was another reason Eugene was so drawn to her. When he first met her, she was this single mother raising an almost teenager, a teenager and a young adult. He recognized that was anything but easy, but Dawn made it look that way, and that is because of just how wonderful she really is.
“She is a great mother,” Eugene said. “She has become someone for any young mother to look up to. She didn’t always do things the right way in the beginning, but over time she has learned the right things to say and or do. Her children will tell you you can ask their mom anything and you will get an honest, heartfelt answer.”
With Dawn, it has been anything but smooth sailing, but she has always figured it out. She has learned to prioritize her kids more than anything, and that has become the most important thing. She won’t let her love for the kids waver, and she will not ever let it waver either.
Being a mother was just half the battle for Dawn on a daily basis. And now, despite most of her attention at home shifting to being a doting wife, that is still half the battle. She is someone who works hard at Home Depot, and she is seen as an irreplaceable presence there.
“I admire that, despite having a 40-hour full-time job, she comes home and makes sure the home is taken care of,” Eugene said. “She makes sure the animals are fed and cared for; she takes care of the bills for the household. She almost has two full-time jobs. She is the matriarch of our family.”
Eugene said his wife is the financial guru for the house, along with being the family doctor, the maid and the cook. She does it all around the house, and she does it all with a smile on her face.
Eugene also mentioned that his wife does this all while being the most caring and thoughtful wife. She makes sure Eugene is at his best at all times, and she pushes him each and every day to really be the best version of himself.
“She is still teaching me that, no matter what, she has my back, side and front,” Eugene said. “That all I have to do is just be honest with her and we can make it through almost anything.”
As long as they are together, the Zacerous couple can make it through to the other side. They just have to continue to be there for one another.
Eugene realizes that he has the most amazing and wonderful wife, and he hopes to not take her for granted for the rest of their lives.
“Dawn, you have made me a better man, husband and person. You were there with me when my mom passed away in the hospital room. I really should have known then that you were all I would ever need. Despite hitting my head on the rock every day beating this into my head, I have started to realize the amazing human being that you are.” – Eugene
