Inspirational Saint: There’re a whole lot of reasons Roxanne’s family and friends look up to her the way they do

There is no doubt the love Roxanne Carro has for her people. She is a devoted wife, a dedicated mother and a top-notch friend. She is the kind of person who is irreplaceable to her loved ones, and who never misses a beat in treating people the right way.

“As my wife of 35 years this August, Roxanne is the epitome of unselfishness and always thinking of others,” Roxanne’s husband Michael said. “She always makes holidays, birthdays, anniversaries and other events so special just by her thoughts and actions to family and many friends. She is very gregarious and unfortunately ALWAYS puts others first (myself included) in a big way.”

Life has thrown Roxanne many curveballs, but she doesn’t ever let anything get to her. She is such a positive person with a selfless attitude and a compassionate heart, and the way she constantly gives is something that can seem underappreciated at times.

But yet, when you ask Roxanne’s kids about her, they will tell you how much she has always been there for them. From the moment they were born, she was their number one confidante and the one person they trust more than anyone.

“She is my mother, someone I can always talk to and who is always there for me,” her son Kristofer said. “She is my shopping buddy and always sneaks me gifts and little things without Dad knowing.”

Especially with him all grown up and married himself, Kristofer cherishes that time with his mother even more. He appreciates her beyond words can describe, and he knows how fortunate and lucky he was to have a spoilsome mother growing up.

Her friends feel the same way too, as Roxanne is a friend for life. She is loyal to a fault and trustworthy in every way, and any friend she has has probably been in her life for quite a long time.

“Roxy means the world to me,” longtime friend Chrissy Peck said. “We have been friends for over 40 years. She is the most thoughtful, caring and kindhearted person I have ever encountered in my 61 years. Our friendship I treasure with all my heart.”

Roxanne’s people cannot help but speak very highly of her, and that is because she deserves it. She treats them so well, and they hope to return the favor.

In fact, her daughter is extra grateful for who her mother is. She has always looked up to her and had her full support, and she knows she would not be the strong, independent woman she is today without Roxanne.

“She is my mom who has cared for me in times of sickness; my disability; when I’d have meltdowns and times when I was angry and when I needed a friend,” Kourtney said. “I often get annoyed with her because she cares for me too much and she just worries about me wanting to make sure I stay safe.”

That’s the way Roxanne has always been, and that is not changing anytime soon. She is a wonderful provider and very much a protector, and nothing gets in the way of her being this way.

“Even after all of that, I will still be there for her to help her if she needs anything,” Kourtney added. “She’s a good mother because of how caring and selfless she is. She retired early from American Airlines to homeschool me instead of having me go to public school where it wasn’t going to be safe for me as a child with autism. I never liked reading books, but she got me to love books when she started homeschooling me.”

Kourtney said the homeschooling brought her and her mom closer together too, as they have really continued to bond more and more over time. They have such a unique and wonderful relationship, and they are there for each other.

Much the same can be said about Roxanne and Kristofer, as the two of them are also super close. Kristofer knows his mom is just one call away, and he hopes she knows he is always within reach as well.

“The struggles of motherhood are numerous, but Roxy never let that set her back,” Chrissy said. “She has two of the most amazing children raised by both parents. Through ups and downs, sickness and health, she always conquered every hurdle raising them. I’m older, but she taught me so much.”

Roxanne is a model mother, and saying that is an understatement. She has instilled all of life’s important lessons into Kristofer and Kourtney, and she has not ever let trauma get in the way of being the most phenomenal mother around.

“I have learned how to love and communicate,” Kristofer said. “I attribute my understanding and strength to her. She gave me my interest and love for cooking.”

Roxanne has made some pretty creative meals over the years, and whether they were inspired by her extensive cultural knowledge from her travel experiences or not, we may never know.

What we do know is Roxanne is all about being yourself and staying true to who you are. She believes in the importance of independence with a little dependence thrown in as well.

“She has taught me to be independent with chores, learning how to budget and pay bills, practicing at Ikea, and she taught me how to drive along with helping me get my hours driving,” Kourtney said.

Roxanne is a doting wife too, showing her kids firsthand what it means to be in a long, loving, stable relationship.

“She grounds me and allows me to remember how important parts of our life were and are,” Michael said. “My wife NEVER fails to fulfill or keep a promise she puts out there. I wish I could say the same. It is very admirable and one thing of many I admire about her.”

Roxanne’s presence in her family’s lives is certainly impactful. It is irreplaceable too, and as a wife in particular, there is not a day she does not stand by her husband’s side.

“She loves my dad and communicates very well,” Kristofer said. “She inspires me to better my marriage and is a role model to be married for 30 plus years.”

“Her husband, Michael, is an entrepreneur, and she stands behind him every step of the way,” Chrissy added. “She gets up before him and goes to bed after him to make sure every endeavor is planned out and prepared for – from family reunions and graduations, to building a house. Michael can count on Roxy’s preparedness and strength.”

Roxanne keeps on top of things and she is a true pillar of support. She is going to have her family’s back no matter what, and she is going to always be there for them.

She is a very positive individual as well, and she is seen as someone who cannot be replaced. A whole lot of people do not know what they would do without Roxanne, and they are grateful to have her in their lives.

I have tried to do better at suggestions she has made to do so but still struggle, but she is patient as a saint and keeps believing.
