Kelly Yohn didn’t show much interest in her future husband, Kevin, when they worked together at Hooters, but a mutual friend got them talking and they agreed to go on a date.
“Eventually I convinced her that I could bake, so one of our first dates I came over to her house and faked my way through baking a cake,” Kevin said with a smile.
Kevin said even from the first time hanging out with her he had a feeling that Kelly was the woman he was going to marry. After the date, his mom asked him how the date went, and he told her he thought Kelly was “The One.”
That feeling grew stronger every time they were together, and they were married as Kevin envisioned. He added that every experience they have had together has only made him sure that Kelly is the one woman for him.
Kelly works as a training coordinator for Dunkin Donuts, but her most important job is caring for her family, which includes three children – Mckenzie, Caroline and Cameron.
“Kelly is an amazing, loving mom who does everything she can to give our kids the best life,” Kevin said. “She always puts her family first no matter the circumstances. She is a devoted Christian, and her faith has made her a stronger mother.”
She loves to spend time with her family camping, boating and fishing. When she has free time, she does DIY projects around the house, hangs out with her girlfriends, and studies her Bible.
The couple has been married for 13 years, and they have made countless memories along the way, especially moving from Pennsylvania to Virginia. When looking for a home in Virginia, they were on the television show “House Hunters,” which was a bucket list item for Kelly.
Kevin and Kelly love to spend every second together and just enjoy each other’s company. Kevin said Kelly is really funny and she has a bubbly, infectious personality that lights up any room she is in.
“She is a beautiful person with a great heart who always puts others above herself,” Kevin said. “Everything she does makes me want to be a better person for her. She gives me encouragement, compliments me and believes in me. She has also led me to strengthen my faith, which I am thankful for.”
“Kelly is a tremendous wife and partner. No matter if life gets rocky or tough, we will always prevail because she is my lifelong partner. I will love her forever!”
