When Tim Troxell hosted a party at his off-campus house near Shippensburg University in 2005, he could not have known how his life would forever be changed. That night, he met a woman named Kristen, who came with a number of girls that Tim knew, including a mutual friend who knew both throughout their time at college.
“I asked our mutual friend who she was,” Tim recalls. “We were introduced and have been together ever since.”
Tim and Kristen Troxell met a month before they graduated in May 2005. They have now been married for 14 years and have lived together in Hummelstown, Jonestown, and Lancaster, PA. Currently, they reside in Lancaster with their two sons, 10-year-old Sam and 5-year-old John.
“We have built a great life together,” Tim said. “I couldn’t imagine spending my life with anyone else.”
As 2025 approaches, the couple can look back on many memories they have made together. They traveled to the Dominican Republic for their honeymoon, later went to the Catskill Mountains, and even visited Chapel Hill – where the University of North Carolina is located – in 2022.
Kristen is a UNC basketball fan, watching their games consistently in her free time. She also takes in Penn State football and Philadelphia Phillies games on TV, plus she goes to Williamsport to see the Little League World Series.
“She is a traveler in her free time,” Tim shared. “She enjoys going out to Rehoboth Beach, spending time on the coast in Florida, and visiting her best friend Tara in New Hampshire.”
In addition, Kristen likes playing with her sons outside, having a weekend with friends, and going to Knoebels Amusement Resort in Columbia County, PA.
Kristen was born in Ephrata, PA, on August 1, 1983. She has a brother named Justin, and her parents, Doug and Margo Evans, reside in Akron, PA.
For work, Kristen excels as the marketing manager for Benchmark Construction. Last year, she received recognition for a decade of exceptional service to the company.
“It was a very proud moment,” Tim said. “I admire her passion for the work she does and appreciate her tireless work ethic. She is a positive role model, especially for our boys.”
A patient and engaged parent, Kristen helps Sam and John succeed socially and academically. She gives her all to her sons, yet still has the space to maintain strong ties with others.
“Kristen is a beautiful and kind person who makes everyone in her life feel like they are the first priority,” Tim said. “Besides her work ethic, my favorite qualities about Kristen are her easy-going nature, her personality, and her devotion to family and friends.”
The Troxell family owes a lot to Kristen, as she has cultivated and built a way of life that helps her husband and sons thrive. Sam, John, and Tim want to wish Kristen a very Merry Christmas and let her know that they see all her efforts.
“Kristen has always been a constant source of solid ground for our marriage and our boys,” said Tim. “She is an invaluable member of our family and provides our boys consistency while being a clear role model. We all want her to know that we love her very much!”
