Although Amanda Fenwick has lived her life near some of the most populous urban areas of the United States, the setting for her story has been provincial, of sorts, often landing somewhere in county lands between Baltimore and Philadelphia. Amanda grew up in Harford County, Maryland, where the Susquehanna River empties into the Chesapeake, and however provincial her upbringing was, Amanda came out of it with many virtues that anyone would celebrate.
Her husband, Josh, said this about her qualities, “She has taught me to think differently and not be so stubborn. Amanda makes me be a better dad, husband and person. It’s a blessing to get the opportunity to make her smile.”
An attention to detail is key to winning in life. Whether it’s a friendly game, a career, or building a family, Amanda’s strength is in her ability to see those details and know what to do with them. The goal for her is to continue to chase perfection.
After graduating from Edgewood High School, Amanda’s journey took her to Towson University, north of Baltimore. From college she would take her detailed focus and drive to succeed to begin working toward a career in finance and accounting. Eventually, at one of the jobs, she would meet Josh, who was smitten the moment they met.
“We met at work, she was gorgeous, and I knew she was amazing when I first talked to her.”
Their courtship became a marriage and eventually a family. Amanda’s focus then became finding ways to create the best memories and life for them, with ‘them’ being Jayden, Dylan and Ryan.
Josh explained, “Amanda does everything to make our family run. She plans trips, special events, and birthdays. She always puts the kids first and wants them to remember all the trips and crazy adventures we take. She does everything for them.”
The trophies Amanda holds dearest from a lifetime of pursuing ‘winning’ and ‘perfection’ are the smiles and adventures captured in the Fenwick Family book.
In trying to explain Amanda’s deep devotion to her family, Josh shared this story: “Amanda always does her hair to look beautiful and doesn’t like to get it wet. The kids know this. So, when we go to water parks, the kids’ one goal is to get mom’s hair wet. And she always lets them splash her. I know she hates it, but because the kids love it, she loves letting them do it.”
“Amanda Lynn is the most amazing mother; wife; best friend. She is everything to me. She is my world.”
