Katie Lynch is the epitome of remembering who you are and where you came from. She grew up in Wheaton, Kansas, with her twin brother, an older brother, two older sisters and her loving parents on a dairy farm, and it was there that she learned the importance of hard work and family.
Katie was close with her entire family growing up, and she has remained close to them ever since. In fact, it was what she learned growing up that helped her become the amazing mother she is to this very day. According to Katie’s husband and high school sweetheart, Mike, motherhood comes naturally and pairs well with her empathy and maternal instincts.
“Katie’s parents provided the foundation to be an amazing mother,” Mike said. “Their family is still very close and have always been very welcoming to me and made me feel a part of the family. Her mother Lois will always make sure everyone is taken care of, has everything they need, and gets everywhere they need to go. Her father Paul, who has since passed away, was the kindest, gentlest man I had ever met. He judged no one, would help anyone, and supported his kids on whatever path they chose. She could always count on her Daddy’s unconditional love without judgment.”
What was instilled in Katie can always be seen on full display, as she is the kind of mother her parents taught her to be. She puts her kids first, and it shows time and again.
Katie puts others first as well, and that is because that is just her nature. She is the kind of friend and family member who wants what is best for everyone, and she will ensure her selflessness will shine through.
Not only that, but Katie’s overall personality is second to none. She takes responsibility and she takes action in many ways, and her hard work and determination are noticed.
“I admire her strength and perseverance,” Mike said. “She refuses to blame others. She takes it upon herself to succeed and pushes her family to do the same. She is naturally introverted and quiet, so taking charge, taking the lead, or even speaking in front of small to large groups is uncomfortable for her. But she accepts the challenge; she does these things consistently and at an exceptional level.”
Katie is certainly not afraid to take charge at her job either. She is a secondary school counselor who helps make sure her students are set up for success. She is the kind of counselor her students look up to and feel comfortable approaching.
Katie is also the kind of wife her husband is not afraid to learn a thing or two from. She has always been there for him, and he is grateful for everything she has ever done for him.
“She makes me better through her support and accountability,” Mike said. “I can take on new challenges with work or a new career and she is not only going to support my decision, but be a cheerleader and motivator for me to succeed. I know if I take on too much and need help she will be there for me every time. And in turn it makes me want to be that person for her and our children.”
Because of Katie, a whole lot of people are much better off. She elevates those around her and makes them better versions of themselves. For that reason and so much more, she is beyond appreciated.
“I will never be able to show her the level of appreciation and love I have for her. She is the key ingredient that makes our family great. I do not want to do life with anybody else. I have played a lot of sports on many levels. I have worked at many different places. She is hands down the best teammate and partner I have ever had. I want and hope she feels the same about me.” – Mike
