Role Model: Rose Soave has always been someone her children look up to and appreciate with all their hearts

Rose Soave loves to cook, read and spend time with family and friends. She spent her working days at a dermatology clinic while also raising three to four children all on her own. She is the epitome of a hardworking single mother who would do anything for anyone, and the way her selflessness shines through each and every day is very much admired.

One of the ways Rose showed her selflessness was when she was quick to take in her one son Mike’s best friend, Angelo, after his mother passed away. She became a mother figure in his life and a role model too, and he really became part of the family.

Rose did all this while also raising Mike’s two other siblings, Jessica and John, who were all handfuls in their own ways. However, her patience and strength always shined through Rose, enabling her to be the best mother her kids could ever ask for.

“Mom is 100% Italian, and she had that fiery personality most Sicilian women are known for,” Mike said. “She’s softened a bit as she has become a grandmother, much to the chagrin of her son Mike.”

They say most moms soften up when they become grandmas, and Rose is no different. She is the kind of grandmother who spoils her grandbabies all the time, and she just loves spending a lot of time with them.

She enjoys being someone they look up to as well, just like she has been someone her children have always looked up to.

“Her strength for obstacles in life,” Angelo said when asked what he admires about his mom. “She always pulls through to the other side. No matter how tough things may be, her resolve holds strong and she remains unphased.”

Nothing can get to Rose, as she is a strong-willed individual with such a great personality. She has such a knack for living life the right way and not letting things bother her, which helps to add to her well-rounded character.

“The duality of my personality comes from her,” Mike said. “It’s a contrast that doesn’t seem likely, but, like her, I strive to be kind, generous and empathetic, while also being aggressive, fierce and driven. It took me a long time to figure out that I can be both kind and fierce, but she’s been the model of that my whole life.”

Rose is bold. She is outgoing. She is caring.

Rose also is not afraid to stand up for herself or for her family. She is a true mama bear, and you do not want to cross her.

At the same time, she just loves people so much and is such an empathetic individual. She would drop anything she is doing to help someone in need, and she is the shirt-off-her-back type of woman.

She is also the kind of woman who puts her family first. Always.

“She’s an amazing mother and grandmother,” Jessica said. “She’s always there when we need her, and her advice and guidance is one I always look up to. Us kids and her grandkids love her so much.”

They have made a lot of great memories together too. From her embarrassing Mike back in elementary school by telling everyone and their brother how proud she was of him to her showing her appreciation for the moments spent nowadays with Jessica to her helping Mike get over the hump and graduate high school back in the day, Rose is just always there and she is a super present force in her kids’ lives, making their lives infinitely better.

She does that for so many others around her too. Rose is a wonderful friend with a positive attitude and a great spirit.

“Her ability to uplift others is unmatched,” John said. “I really struggle with anxiety and other things of that ilk. She is always able to pull me back up when I am at my lowest. I don’t know anyone who can do that like her.”

It does not matter if you are having your best day or your worst. Rose is going to be there for you in your corner, making sure you get through to the other side.

She is never going to let you go without either, and even if that means not going without sound advice, that is what Rose is going to provide.

“She’s shown me what it takes to be a good mother and to raise my own kids the way she raised us,” Jessica said. “She raised us to be strong and independent.”

Strength and relying on nobody but yourself are two great things Rose instilled in her children.

She also instilled in them how to handle difficult people and situations. It is not ever easy, but she makes it look that way, as she not only gives people the benefit of the doubt, but she does not get easily frustrated in the process.

“She has more patience than anyone could possibly expect to have,” John said. “I am always calling/bothering her about a million things worrying me at the time, and she never makes me feel like a bother. She always wants us to be happy/content/as worry free as we can be.”

Rose is always just a phone call away for her family, and that is because of how much they mean to her.

“Family always comes first for her,” Jessica said. “She never hesitates to stop whatever it is she’s doing and help her kids/family. There are never enough words to express how grateful we are to have her as our mother.”

There is so much admiration, astonishment and appreciation for Rose from her kids, as they all love how much she has done for them… even if not all the qualities she passed on to them are as positive as others.

“She taught me my dark and dry sense of humor, my extreme sarcasm, and my streak of being independent,” John said. “I see a lot of my personal positives in my mom.”

As a whole, there is not only truly bad quality that Rose possesses. She loves her family with all her heart and she is a true saint in the eyes of many, and for that she is beloved by all.

“I love my mother with all of me. I don’t know where I would be without her. She’s my rock. She’s my go-to person for everything. She’s always been the glue that holds this family together. She’s my hero. In more ways than one.” – Jessica

“I can honestly say I would not be here or have anything that I do have without her. She is my role model and the basis for what I strive to be in my life.” – John
