Tabatha Hoesch would consider herself a parent of five – her daughter, Adria, her dogs, Jet and George, and her cats, Binx and Boo. An avid lover of all five of her “children,” Tabatha exemplifies what it means to be a mother. “She loves animals and is always looking out for our little girl,” shared her husband, Mike, in the weeks leading up to Valentine’s Day.
Born in Bremerton, WA, to mother Linda and father Allen, Tabatha met Mike while both worked on a submarine. “We became friends and eventually started talking more after I left,” recounted Mike. “I always thought she was incredibly beautiful.”
A drive for adventure led Tabatha to persuade Mike to ride the ferris wheel on their first date, despite his fear of heights. A meal at Razzi’s and flowers that date has become nights of trivia, board games and hiking today.
The theme of heights continued in one of their many exciting travels together. Tropical voyages to Hawaii and the U.S. Virgin Islands were memorable, but a trip to New Zealand stands out in Mike’s mind, in part due to a turbulent journey.
“We actually lifted out of our seats when the plane dropped and we both yelped a little,” Mike recalled. An itinerary filled with a drive from Queenstown to Auckland, A Lord of the Rings tour, a visit to the Hobbiton set, and a sprinkling of beautiful scenery made this vacation one to remember.
As a partner, Tabatha has fostered a relationship of both enriching love and healthy growth. “She challenges me with her intellect, and she pushes me to be a kinder and more gentle and understanding person,” said Mike.
Eventually, Tabatha and Mike agreed to have their daughter, Adria. Paying constant attention to their young daughter, the couple relished a bundle of tiny moments of joy. “Adria would make a noise or cough to get our attention and we would both laugh so hard.”
Today, Tabatha takes great care to continue showering their daughter with love and compassion, through both fun activities and buying books for her to read. “She’s a fantastic planner,” Mike declared.
The band of Tabatha’s compassion and thoughtfulness stretches far beyond her daughter. “She always puts her friends and family ahead of herself,” said Mike.
Having watched dogs for three years, Tabatha has indulged her passion for animals by agility training with Jet in the past, and more recently playing with all four pets. Of course, Tabatha also engages in hobbies of her own. Reading, watching reality television, and enjoying self-care through chocolate and baths keep this Superwoman flying high.
Mike expressed a passionate affection for his favorite superhero, admiring both her and the love they’ve grown together. “As difficult as I can be and as much as I love to annoy her. I love her and that’s just kind of how I show it.”
