Laura is a loving and caring mother, wife and empath, with a tender heart.
That tender heart gives her the ability to care for others and make a house a home. Wherever she is, she makes it a better place to be.
Blending wisdom and compassion together beautifully, she helps everyone gain a better emotional perspective on life’s trials and tribulations.
“She lights up every room she walks in with her humor and adventurous spirit. And that million dollar smile of course,” said her husband, Doug. “I never knew the feeling of entering a room with the most beautiful woman there, but I know what that feels like now because of her.”
Laura and Doug met on eHarmony and spent several months writing to each other due to her reluctance to meet him face-to-face. But Doug knew she was special once he saw her picture and read her authentic profile. By the time they met, he knew she was the one.
“We fit together perfectly in every way,” Doug said. “I tell her often, ‘You are my one,’ as in one and only. We are soulmates.”
From eHarmony to date nights, Doug and Laura shared years of ongoing happiness together, forming a beautiful, blended family along the way. They have six adult children and are now joyous empty nesters, although they grieve the recent loss of their beloved Bichon Frisé, Owen, who will forever be in their hearts.
Doug refers to Laura as the lifeblood of their family. “Our family dinners are fun and magical, like the ones you see in the movies. Without her, there is no magic,” he shared. “Everything else may be the same. We eat good food and have good conversations, but without her, the magic is gone.”
Their days now consist of things like cooking, hosting guests, and entertaining, along with tons of snuggling (for Doug of course).
They also enjoy traveling together.
One of Doug’s favorite memories being their time in Italy. Enjoying amazing restaurants in Rome like MiMi e CoCo and their favorite gelato place, Della Palma.
“Her creativity is one of my many favorite traits about her,” Doug shared.
Doug recalls one of his favorite memories of Laura’s kindness and creativity.
“One year, she randomly asked everyone to tell her their favorite childhood book. She then tracked down copies of each book and on Christmas morning gifted them to us with a heartfelt handwritten message on the inner cover,” Doug shared. “Everyone was so touched; we all cried. Only Laura thinks of things like that!”
That was just one example of how Laura uses her creativity to light up lives.
She also spreads her light through photography and acting.
Laura is currently starring in a play called Boeing Boeing!! and is stealing the show as Berthe. In addition to many other community theater roles, she has appeared in national television commercials, short films, and print ads.
Her photography career is shifting from fine art toward headshots for the acting community.
If she is not with family, behind the camera or in front of it, she is most likely in the bathtub.
“Aside from me, the bathtub is her true love,” said Doug. “She does anything and everything in there, from practicing lines to processing her sorrows and joys to solving the world’s problems.”
Laura is truly one-of-a-kind and deserves to know how much she is loved and cherished by those around her.
As someone who continuously tries to assess her value through the measurable things in life, it is important that she understands that her value is actually immeasurable.
“Our lives would be empty without you. Everything you touch, you make better. You are my one.” – Doug
