When Merlin Edwards III met Bianca in Maui in the spring of 2016, he could tell almost immediately that she was someone special. She was smart and savvy and the life of the party. Little did he know that she would also be a great mother and life partner – or that her name was really Heather.
Heather grew up in a town called Euless in the DFW area in Texas but spent a lot of time in New York. She was the daughter of Stacey, who lived in Texas and Kevin who resided in New York City. Heather’s parents raised her to be driven and fearlessly pursue what she wants by putting her mind to that thing until it gets done.
Merlin, speaking about his wife, said, “She is the most incredible woman I’ve ever met. She’s smart and funny but can also be very laid back. She loves very hard and expects greatness from those she’s closest with. She always pushes me to be a better person and she motivates me to get be a great father and husband. She can be very motivational because I don’t ever want to let her down. She leads by example and expects those around her to keep up!”
Heather’s personality and outgoing nature has made her an excellent salesperson, using her skills to sell beer in the Dallas area – a gig she loves that comes with the added benefit of all the samples you could want!
After Merlin eventually learned his future bride’s name he spent the rest of his vacation with her, each making time for each other on what had started for both as a family trip. They both loved music and travel and reality tv shows.
“I knew right away because of how we clicked. Even though we had just met, it felt like we’d known each other for decades. We liked a lot of the same things and had similar values. Although she is older than I am, I’ve always been somewhat of an old soul. It was a perfect match from day one.”
Eventually Heather’s magnetism pulled Merlin to live with her in Texas and some four years after their chance meeting in Hawaii, they were married. ‘Together, wherever’ became a mantra of sorts for the newlywed couple. Whether it was playing a game of “Your Team” or traveling by RV to the West Coast, simply being together has been the greatest trip of them all.
That is until the summer of 2021, when they welcomed their daughter, Makena Cora Edwards into the world. Even though Heather stayed fun and outgoing, she also sank her heart into motherhood. Merlin described Heather as a mother this way, “She is caring, loving, diligent, focused, detailed, fiery, relentless, and gentle. Our daughter loves her mom, and she is the luckiest girl in the world. Heather would do anything to make sure our daughter is healthy, happy, loved, and cared for the best way possible.”
In passionate reflection, Merlin said, “I love my wife more than words can express. She does everything for our family, and it does not go unnoticed. I’m so thankful for her and everything she does. I’m the luckiest man on the face of the earth to be able to call her my wife and mother of my children.”
