“When you know, you know.”
Thomas McQuiggan is very familiar with this phrase, and it is something he agrees with wholeheartedly. And that’s because he fell in love with his wife, Marcy, right off the bat.
“I have loved Marcy since we met,” Thomas said. “I love her loyalty to family and friends, her devotion to our family, how she loves to have fun with everyone we know, and how she takes care of us all and our home. I love everything about her.”
Thomas first met Marcy at the local hangout, Frawley’s, back in 1989, and he has never let her go since. She is someone who is there for everyone, and she never lets her love waver. She cares about family, friends and everyone else, and she is truly amazing.
Being the youngest of nine, Marcy knows what it means to put family above everything. While she always had to fend for herself, she also loved her folks unconditionally.
“Marcy is all about family,” Thomas said. “She is a tough but fair woman who loves our children and grandchildren with all her heart and soul. She pains when they hurt. She rejoices when they are happy. She would die for any of them.”
Growing up, Alex and Natalie had everything they could ever ask for. They had a mom who cared and who was their biggest supporter. They looked up to Marcy for that reason, and because Marcy’s work ethic is something else.
Marcy has worked in the restaurant industry all her life, and she does not know what it means to slow down. She has worked feverishly in the kitchen, and as a bartender and waitress, and she has a customer-first mindset.
Nowadays, she spends her days as “Nini” to her grandchildren, Ollie and Phoenixx. Marcy loves to spoil those two kids, and she will never not find an excuse to help out and be there for them in any way.
Along with being a top-notch Nini, Marcy has a knack for making every moment in her family’s lives special. From keeping the Elf on the Shelf tradition alive with Ollie, to everything in between, holidays and the everyday are memorable.
“Every Christmas morning is special,” Thomas said. “More so now maybe with the grandkids. Every time I come in the house and spill whatever she made for dinner. Every time I can smell the cleaner she uses to clean the house. Every time Ollie speaks in words way beyond a 3rd grader, and I know it’s because Nini has taught him so well. Every day is a special memory that stands out.”
Every day is a learning opportunity for Thomas as well, as he feels he has learned so much from his wife over the years. From how to deeply love others to holding family close, everything that makes Marcy special stands out to Thomas.
Marcy is just an all-out amazing woman. She loves camping and rehoming dogs, and she is a role model of strength and determination. There is nothing she would not do for family, and she is appreciated because of this.
“She is what defines this family: loving; caring; the holder of everything; sharer of all things to those that have earned her love and respect.”
