Crystal Reedy is a loving, hardworking wife, mother and grandmother who just so happens to be the best darn USPS window clerk in the world… at least according to her husband Rick.
We would tend to agree with this statement, but more than that, when you hear her family talk about her, you will begin to realize what an amazing woman Crystal is. She loves her husband, kids and grandchild with all her heart, and there is nothing she would not do for them.
She means the world to her entire family, and they speak wonders about her.
“When it comes to what she means to me, I don’t know if there’s any other way to put it other than she is one of the most important people in my life,” her son Max (25) said. “She’s my mom. Without her love, guidance and teachings, I wouldn’t be where I am today or here at all. My mom means the world to me, because she gave me the world.”
Crystal has always been a great role model to Max and his sister Marley (32), and she has always made sure they have all the love and support they need. She has taught them an endless amount of life lessons, and she has brought about strong morals and values in her kids.
“My mom means absolutely everything to me,” Marley said. “I feel so lucky to be able to call her my mother. She has been my mentor, cheerleader, sounding board and my number one role model. Mom is always there for me – whether she’s listening to me vent about a tough day, or helping me decorate for my son’s birthday party – she is always there. Simply put, she is my rock.”
She has also taught her kids to have an appreciation for family and for life, and they have held onto this appreciation to this very day.
When her husband talks about what Crystal means to him and the family, he talks about how she has always supported them and been in their corner. She is someone they have always been able to rely upon, and she is the reason they get to live the lives they do today.
“Crystal was the best mom that she could be to the kids during their formative years and continues to do so even now,” Rick said. “She’s nurturing, affectionate and is always a willing listening partner when Marley and Max need to talk or want any sage advice. Ditto as a wife, as she’s always been there for me, and she’s truly a treasure to be with on a daily basis.”
Life with Crystal is great, but it is not just great for her immediate family members, but also for everyone all around her as well. There are so many people who love and admire Crystal, and that is because of how she treats those around her, and her kids have always kept a close eye on this.
“It was my mom who taught me the ‘golden rule’ of treating others the way you want to be treated,” Max said. “It’s a lesson that I carry with me every day. There’s not a day that goes by where that rule doesn’t come up.”
Treating others with respect and kindness is so important, especially in this day and age, and it is something that helps make Crystal the amazing human she is. She cares so much about others and has such compassion in her heart, and this has never gone unnoticed.
“My mom is hands down the most thoughtful person I know,” Marley said. “She is genuine, caring and kind. She always remembers everyone’s birthdays, anniversaries, and any other special dates or occasions.”
“Something about my mom is that she is a naturally good and kind-hearted person,” Max added. “I don’t even think she thinks about how to ‘treat someone well,’ as it’s just in her nature to do so. She’s observant and can tell when someone is acting even the slightest bit upset.”
Crystal keeps a careful eye out for what anyone and everyone is going through, and she does not ever let people suffer alone. If you need an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on, Crystal is the person you want to call up.
Her kids and husband have been watching her be this amazing soul for decades, but now she has a new person to be a great example to. Marley’s son Grady is only two, but you can be sure he has had a lifetime of laughter and love because of his grandma.
“While my mom has only recently become a grandmother, I know she’s putting her absolute best in for her grandchild,” Max said. “She’s making sure that she is present and available to be there for Grady while he is growing up and trying to support my sister as well.”
She is such a loving woman, and her heart somehow grew immensely bigger after Grady was born. Crystal loves to spoil that little boy and she is always there to support he and his parents at the drop of a hat, and her grandmotherly love is yet another one of the infinite things that makes Crystal special.
Rick also speaks highly of his wife’s encouragement she has always given he and the kids, and he knows that she is always going to be there for them. She is a one-of-a-kind woman who has such a strong sense of selflessness, and her endless support for everyone is amazing.
“My favorite quality about my mother is that she is soft, yet strong,” Marley said. “What I mean by this is that she is an extremely loving and caring person, but also has boundaries and limits. Some people never learn how to set boundaries, others never learn how to let people in emotionally, but she is able to do both. That is such a rare, valuable and admirable quality to have.”
This is a rare quality possessed by a truly special lady, and her family is so grateful to call Crystal their person.
They love her more than anything, just like they know she loves them more than anything, and they want her to know that this love will never fade.
“For Mother’s Day, I want you to know that I’m ecstatic every day to know that I’m married to the best wife, and the best mother to our kids in the world! It truly is a pleasure to be able to kiss you in the morning and before we go to sleep, to hold your hand when we go out and to have any opportunity to cuddle up with you.
