I’m sure around 99.99999 percent of the world has never heard my name, so let’s get to the point.
My name is Nathaniel Chambers and I hold an associate’s degree in communication, a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a master’s degree in communication. I started working with MyFrontPageStory.com in the summer of 2019 as a social media and content creation intern, but last July I moved into a full-time position with the company as the Lead Writer and Managing Supervisor.
In the past year, I have had the opportunity to write many of our personalized stories for people and have also had the chance to run the day-to-day operations of this company. I never thought I would be running a business before I turned 24, but then again, I never thought I would be a journalist until right before I began my college career.
My passion for writing started with an interesting twist, as I have never been a huge fan of writing long-winded essay-style papers. Even all throughout high school and part way through college, I was not a huge fan of English class – it was nothing against the teachers and professors I had, but instead it had to do with the curriculum.
That said, I had always been a huge sports fan, and when I was looking through colleges back in high school, I realized the field I was interested in – sports statistics and analytics – was so niche that there were only a handful of schools that I could go to for it. That’s when I decided to try my hand in the field of journalism instead, as I have always enjoyed giving my thoughts toward different things, but was not a fan of research and writing 5-plus page papers.
Lucky for me, I learned pretty quickly that I enjoyed journalistic style writing, and now here we are.
I went through six years of college (two at Harrisburg Area Community College and four at Liberty University), have been a manager at McDonald’s, interned with a minor league baseball team (the Harrisburg Senators) and have even been a graduate assistant, but doing what I do for MyFrontPageStory.com just has a different feel to it. I get to help run a business that makes an impact on so many people’s lives through the stories I get to write for them, and it is a very rewarding experience.
I am looking forward to continuing to grow as a professional as this company continues to grow its clientele, and I am looking forward to seeing what is in store for both myself and this business.
And for those of you wondering what happened to my passion for sports, it is still there. However, with the sports world being in the state it is today and with having the job that I have at this point in my life, you could say I am more than content right now.
